IBAN
Ukraine adopted the IBAN standard in November 2019, using a 29-character format. The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) manages the payment infrastructure. IBANs replaced the previous MFO-based account numbering system for all electronic transfers.

How it works
The Ukrainian IBAN starts with "UA" followed by 2 check digits and a 25-digit BBAN consisting of a 6-digit bank code (former MFO code) and a 19-digit account number. The NBU's SEP system processes all interbank settlements.
