Bank Code
Polish banks are identified by an 8-digit bank code (sort code) embedded within the 26-digit NRB (Numer Rachunku Bankowego) account number. The National Bank of Poland (NBP) oversees the ELIXIR and Express ELIXIR payment systems.

How NRB works
The 8-digit code consists of a 3-digit clearing bank number, a 4-digit branch code, and a 1-digit check digit. It forms the first 8 digits of the NRB account number and is embedded in the Polish IBAN.
