Pakistan adopted IBAN as the standard account identifier in 2012. Pakistani IBANs are 24 characters long and include a 4-character bank code. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) oversees the PRISM real-time settlement system and 1LINK interbank network.

How it works
The Pakistani IBAN contains the country code (PK), 2 check digits, a 4-character bank code (upper-case), and a 16-digit account number. 1LINK operates the shared ATM network and interbank transfer system.
