Registration Number
Norwegian bank accounts use a 4-digit registration number to identify the bank, which forms the first part of the 11-digit account number. The system is managed by Bits AS (formerly the Norwegian Banks' Payment and Clearing Centre).

How Reg works
The registration number is the first 4 digits of the 11-digit account number. It identifies the bank, while digits 5–10 are the customer number and digit 11 is a check digit. Norwegian IBANs embed the full 11-digit account number.
