IBAN
The Netherlands uses IBAN as the sole identifier for bank accounts — there is no separate domestic routing code. Dutch IBANs are 18 characters and include a 4-letter bank code (BIC) that identifies the institution within the SEPA network.

How it works
The Dutch IBAN contains the country code (NL), 2 check digits, a 4-letter bank identifier, and a 10-digit account number. All domestic and eurozone transfers use IBAN exclusively under SEPA rules.
