RUT
Chilean bank transfers use the RUT (Rol Único Tributario), a national tax ID number, to identify account holders rather than routing numbers. The Cámara de Compensación Automatizada (CCA) processes interbank transfers.

How it works
The RUT identifies the account holder (individual or business). For transfers, you need the recipient's RUT, bank name, account type, and account number. The CCA clears interbank payments and TEF (Transferencia Electrónica de Fondos) handles real-time transfers.
Where to find yours
Your RUT is on your national ID card (Cédula de Identidad), in your banking app, or on the SII (tax authority) website.
