Troubleshooting Login Issues
Last updated November 3, 2026
Overview
Sometimes, you may run into an issue when trying to log in to Slash. This guide covers common login issues and how to resolve them.
To log in to your Slash account, visit app.slash.com/login. For help logging in to one of your connected integrations, please refer to that platform's login support page.
Forgotten password
If you ever forget your Slash password, you can reset it by clicking Forgot password? on the login page. Enter the email associated with your account to receive a one-time verification code; once you enter the verification code, you'll be able to choose a new password.
We suggest choosing a secure password at least 12 characters in length containing multiple letter cases, numbers, and symbols with no thematic connection to your identity. Save your passwords in a secure password manager, or write them down in a password book. If you use two-factor authentication, store your recovery key somewhere secure and separate from your password.
If the verification email doesn't arrive, see email verification issues below.
Multi-factor authentication
Slash supports several two-factor authentication (2FA) providers for adding an extra layer of security to your sign-in, including Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Apple Passwords, Authy, and others. Your account owner may require you to set up 2FA the first time you sign in.
Here are some common issues with verifying your sign-in using 2FA:
Lost access to your 2FA device
The first time you set up 2FA, you'll see a long string of characters called a recovery key. In the event that you lose access to your authenticator app, a recovery key is the fastest way to set up 2FA on a new device or access your account. Otherwise, contact support@slash.com to go through a manual identity verification process.
Make sure you save this key somewhere secure and separate from your password: a password manager in the cloud (so it isn't stored just on one device) or a separate password book.
Date/time setting issues
If your authenticator app is generating codes that keep getting rejected, check your phone's date and time settings. Authenticator apps like Google Authenticator and Authy create each code from your phone's clock, so if that clock is off by even a minute, the app produces codes Slash won't accept.
To fix it, open your phone's settings, set the date and time to update automatically, and confirm the time zone is correct. Then open your authenticator app and enter the newest code.
Email verification issues
If your verification code or login email hasn't arrived, work through these steps in order.
- Confirm the email address. Make sure you're entering the email address associated with your Slash account. A typo or an old work address is the most common reason a code never shows up.
- Check spam, junk, and filters. Look in your spam or junk folder, plus any other tabs or folders your inbox uses. If you've set up filters or rules, the email may have been routed somewhere other than your primary inbox.
- Allow emails from Slash. Add notifications@mail.slash.com to your contacts or safe senders list. If you use a work email, ask your IT team to confirm that emails from Slash aren't being blocked by your company's security settings.
- Request a new code. Emails can occasionally take a few minutes to arrive. If yours hasn't come through after five minutes, request a new code. Only the most recent code will work, so use the newest one in your inbox.
- Check whether your email provider is having problems. If your email server has been down, your domain has lapsed, or your inbox is full, our emails to you may have bounced back to us. When several emails to the same address bounce, we temporarily stop sending to that address to protect delivery for all customers. Once the problem with your email provider is fixed, contact support@slash.com and we'll restore email delivery to your account.
If you've tried all of these steps and still aren't receiving emails, contact support@slash.com with the email address on your account and we'll help you get back in.
