How to Order and Set Up a Slash Metal Card

Overview

If metal cards are available for your Slash account, you can order one from the Cards page in your dashboard. This guide covers pricing, ordering, shipping, activation, and PIN setup.

Eligibility and pricing

A new metal card costs $20. Shipping fees are separate and depend on the destination and delivery method.

Eligible accounts that maintain at least $100,000 with Slash may have the metal card fee automatically waived for up to 20 metal cards. Eligibility is determined automatically; no manual credit is required.

The card order form displays the card fee, any waiver, and the available shipping methods and fees before you submit the order. Review the final amount shown in your dashboard because account-specific pricing or shipping options may apply.

How to Order a Metal Card

The metal card ordering process follows the same steps in your dashboard as ordering any physical card; for a detailed breakdown of the process, read How to Order and Activate a Physical Slash Card. However, eligible Slash users will see a metal design option when filling out the order form.

Here's the abridged step-by-step:

1. In your 'Cards' dashboard view, click 'Add card' in the top right of your dashboard. From the dropdown menu that appears, click 'Order physical card.'
2. Fill out cardholder information and continue. On the next panel for configuring card details, select the metal design option.
3. Continue filling out your card information and choose your delivery method.
4. Review all details to ensure your order is correct, then click 'Order physical card.'

How to Activate and Set Up Your Metal Card

Step 1: Scan your personalized QR code

After the card arrives, flip the box over to the side that displays your personalized QR code. Scan it with your phone to get started with the card activation process.

If your Slash dashboard is already open on your phone or computer, skip to step 3.

Step 2: Navigate to your Slash account from the web

The QR code will take you to the metal card activation page on slash.com. From there, you can review the carousel for instructions on how to activate your card, and then press the "Open mobile app" or "Open web app" buttons to use the activation flow you prefer.

Step 3: Find the activation prompt in your dashboard

The easiest way to get started is by navigating to your action center and using the 'Card activation' prompt waiting for you.

Alternatively, you can look up the card's details manually in your Cards dashboard view, then begin the activation flow by using the prompt in the sidebar.

Step 4: Enter the last 4 digits of your card number

Once you press 'Activate card', a pop-up will display asking you for the last 4 digits of your card number. Enter them, press 'Activate card', and your card activation is complete. There may be a pending status immediately after activation that will resolve shortly after completion.
