How Slash Card Autopay Works
Last updated April 8, 2026
Overview
You can automatically pay down the balances on your Slash Cards using Autopay. At the end of each day, Slash calculates your total settled charges and transfers that amount from your cash account, bringing your card balance back to zero.
How Daily Autopay Works
Each day, Slash calculates your total Slash Card charges and initiates a payment from your connected Slash cash account to pay off the balance. The process is fully automatic and runs every day, including weekends and holidays.
Example: You make three purchases totaling $1,200 on Monday. At end of day Monday, autopay pulls $1,200 from your Slash cash account, bringing your card balance back to zero.
What Happens with Refunds?
When a merchant issues a refund on a Slash Card purchase, the refund reduces your outstanding card balance rather than depositing cash directly into your account.
Same-day refund example: You spend $200, then receive a $50 refund the same day. Your end-of-day balance is $150, and autopay pulls $150.
Refund with no new spending: If your card balance is $0 and you receive a $100 refund, the refund amount flows back to your account and increases your available spending by $100. You don't need to take any action; the adjustment happens automatically during the daily settlement process.
What If Autopay Cannot Collect?
If your connected Slash cash account does not have sufficient funds when autopay runs, the payment may partially succeed or fail. You will receive a notification prompting you to fund your account. It is important to maintain sufficient funds in your Slash account to cover daily card spending.
Repeated autopay failures can result in your card being temporarily frozen or your credit line being reduced.
Tips for Managing Autopay
- Keep your Slash account funded with enough to cover your expected daily card spending.
- Set up auto top-ups to automatically replenish your Slash account when the balance drops below a threshold.
- Monitor your spending throughout the day on the Transactions page so autopay amounts are not unexpected.
- Plan for large purchases by ensuring extra funds are available before making big charges.
