Understanding Slash Cashback
Last updated April 9, 2026
Overview
Slash offers a simple and powerful cashback program that lets you earn rewards on your card spend. Your cashback rate depends on your subscription tier: Slash Pro members can earn up to 2% cashback, while Free plan members can earn up to 1.5%. There's no cap on how much you can earn, and your cashback never expires.
This article explains how cashback works, when rewards are paid out, and which merchants and transactions are not eligible for cashback.
How and When Cashback Is Paid Out
Cashback on Slash is distributed monthly using a net-25 schedule, meaning you receive your rewards 25 days after the close of each calendar month. For example:
- Cashback earned from January 1–31 is paid out on February 25
- Cashback earned from February 1–28 is paid out on March 25
On the 25th of each month, your previous month's rewards convert from pending to available cashback. You can view and redeem your available cashback from the Cashback widget in the top-right corner of your Slash dashboard.
Pending vs. Available Cashback
Before your rewards are officially available, they appear as pending cashback in your dashboard. Pending cashback updates dynamically based on your card activity:
- Before the 25th: Pending cashback reflects your cashback rate applied to both the current month's spend and the previous month's spend.
- After the 25th: Pending cashback reflects your cashback rate applied to the current month's spend only, since the previous month's rewards have already been converted to available cashback.
Once rewards become available on the 25th, you can redeem them anytime.
Non-Eligible Transactions and Merchants
Some transactions do not earn cashback, even when made with your Slash card. These include:
- Purchases made in a foreign currency or from non-U.S. merchants
- Payments to restricted merchants (see list below)
The following merchants are currently restricted from earning cashback:
- Walmart
- Amazon
- PayPal
- Cash App
- Microsoft
- Apple
- Venmo
- Sam's Club
- Uber Eats
- Ubiquiti
- DoorDash
- Grubhub
- Amazon Prime
- The Home Depot
- Costco
Slash may update this list at any time and reserves the right to exclude additional merchants from cashback eligibility at its discretion.
