How Multi-Approver Payment Approvals Work
Last updated July 27, 2026
Multi-approver payment workflows help your business require more than one authorized reviewer before a payment is released. Slash now makes these workflows clearer by preventing duplicate approvals, excluding prior approvers when another approval is needed, and showing approval progress during review.
When Multi-Approver Flows Apply
A multi-approver flow applies when your payment approval policy requires more than one approval before an outgoing payment can be processed. The exact requirements depend on the policy configured by your account Owner or Admin.
Tracking Approval Progress
When a payment is pending approval, Slash shows approval progress so reviewers and requesters can understand how many approvals have been completed and how many are still required before the payment can proceed.
Duplicate Approvals Are Prevented
If a reviewer has already approved a payment, Slash prevents that same reviewer from counting again toward the remaining approval requirement. This helps ensure that each required approval comes from a distinct authorized reviewer.
Prior Approvers Are Excluded From Later Steps
When a payment needs additional approvals, people who already approved it may be excluded from later approval prompts. This helps route the next review to someone who can still count toward the remaining requirement.
