How to Queue a Payment
Last updated October 31, 2026
Overview
When you onboard a new vendor, you can send their first payment in the same step as requesting their banking details. Slash calls this a queued payment.
After you invite a vendor or individual to securely submit their banking details, you can move straight to sending them a payment. The payment won’t release until they’ve submitted their details.
If you’ve sent a vendor invite and the recipient is having trouble completing the form, see Getting Paid Through Slash: Completing a Vendor Invite.
How to send a queued payment
Step 1: Navigate to Send Money
From your homepage or Payables dashboard, click Move money in the top right and select Send money from the dropdown.
Step 2: Invite a new vendor or recipient
Select Add a new recipient, the first option in your recipient list.
In the panel that opens, select Invite recipient in the top right.
Step 3: Fill out the recipient invite form
Fill out the form, including the name you’ll use for the recipient in your dashboard, whether they’re a vendor or an individual, and which details you need from them (bank account information, crypto wallet information, or a W-8 or W-9). Click Send invite when you’re done.
Step 4: Select the pending recipient
Once the invite is sent, search for the recipient by the name you entered in the recipient selector. Their entry will show a Pending tag. Select the recipient.
Step 5: Initiate the queued payment
Proceed through the Slash payment flow as normal, selecting the account, payment method, and amount. On the payment page, a warning label notes that the recipient still has outstanding details.
If the payment requires approval, approvers can review it while it’s queued. The payment releases once the recipient completes the form and any required approvals are in. You can track the payment’s status in the Queued payments panel of your Payments dashboard.
