Configuring Submission Policies
Last updated November 4, 2026
Overview
Slash’s submission policies allow you to customize rules regarding receipts and memos that come with card transactions. You can also restrict sending privileges to certain domains and email addresses.
As a result of submission policies, companies can gain a better level of control over their employee spend and more easily gather the documents required for month-end close.
Where to Find Submission Policies
Open Slash and click “Payables” on the menu on the left side of the screen. On the dropdown menu that opens, click “Payments”. Then, navigate to the “Policies” button in the upper right hand corner.
From there, click on “Submission Policy” which will be on the lower right side of that page.
You will then see a series of settings you can create and change. Here’s what they mean:
Your Submission Policies
Receipt Policy
Your receipt policy gives you the opportunity to require receipts on card transactions based on your defined rules. For example, if your employees use their Slash Visa® Platinum Cards to get lunch during the workday, you could require receipts when the purchase is above $40, and allow the transaction to pass through receipt-free if it’s under $40.
When you edit/create a receipt policy, you can customize:
- The transaction threshold
- The affected merchants
- The affected cards
- When it will be enforced
- When text messages should be triggered
Memo Policy
In a similar vein, your memo policy allows you to require memos (written notes with extra context) on card transactions based on predefined rules. For example, if an employee spends $75 on a lunch, you may want them to explain that context.
When you edit/create a memo policy, you can customize:
- The transaction threshold
- The affected merchants
- The affected cards
- When it will be enforced
- When text messages should be triggered
Receipts Inbox
Below Memo Policy you’ll see Receipts Inbox, which is a copy-and-pastable email address rather than a customizable field. This address (platinum@receipts.slash.com) is where you and your employees will forward receipts. It can’t be edited, but it can be copied with a click.
Recognized Senders
The Recognized Senders section is where you can customize the email domains and specific email addresses that may forward receipts to platinum@receipts.slash.com. Click “Edit” on either field to add recognized domains and recognized emails.
