Inviting Vendors to Slash
Last updated August 31, 2026
Overview
Vendor invites let you ask a vendor or recipient to securely provide or confirm the information needed for payments in Slash. Instead of collecting sensitive payment details over email or chat, you can send an invite from Slash and let the vendor complete their details through the secure flow.
When to Invite a Vendor
- Invite a vendor when you need them to add or update payment details before you can send a bill payment or outgoing transfer.
- Use vendor invites when you do not want to manually handle sensitive bank information, tax details, or contact updates outside Slash.
- If the vendor already exists, review the existing vendor profile before sending another invite so you do not create duplicate records.
How to Send a Vendor Invite
Step 1: Open Vendors
From your Slash dashboard, go to the vendor or recipient area used for bill pay and outgoing payments.
Step 2: Add or choose the vendor
Create a new vendor, or open an existing vendor profile if the vendor is already saved in Slash.
Step 3: Send the invite
Choose the option to invite the vendor to provide their details. Enter the vendor contact email, review the request, and send the invite.
Step 4: Track completion
After the invite is sent, monitor the vendor profile or related bill/payment workflow for the vendor’s completion status. Once the vendor submits the required information, review it before using the details for payment.
What the Vendor Sees
- The vendor receives an invite asking them to provide or confirm the information needed to receive payment.
- They complete the requested fields through a secure Slash flow instead of replying with sensitive details in plain text.
- If more information is needed, Slash may show follow-up prompts or leave the vendor profile incomplete until the missing details are provided.
Before Paying an Invited Vendor
- Confirm the vendor name, email, and payment destination before scheduling or sending payment.
- Check that the vendor profile is complete and does not duplicate another vendor record.
- If your company uses approvals, make sure the bill or payment follows the required approval workflow before funds are sent.
Troubleshooting Vendor Invites
- Vendor did not receive the invite: Confirm the email address and ask the vendor to check spam or security filters before resending.
- Vendor entered the wrong details: Ask the vendor to update the profile, or edit the vendor details if your permissions allow it.
- Invite is still incomplete: Open the vendor profile to see whether required contact, bank, tax, or payment details are missing.
- Duplicate vendor records: Review existing vendors before paying, and consolidate or archive duplicates according to your team’s process.
