How to Switch or Disconnect an Accounting Integration
Last updated November 2, 2026
Overview
Slash integrates with different accounting platforms to give you two-way sync between your Slash transactions and your company’s accounting records. You can export transaction data from Slash into that platform, and import your chart of accounts, contacts, and tracking categories back into Slash.
If you need to switch your current accounting app with a different one and re-sync everything with Slash, here’s a look at how that works.
Before you begin, you'll need
- The account you’re switching from
- The account you’re switching to
- Admin or Owner permissions in your Slash account
How to Disconnect an Accounting Integration From Slash
Step 1: Click on “Accounting”
When you have an accounting integration actively hooked up, the Accounting button will drop down into two subsections, “Transactions”, and “Bills”. Click either one of those and head to the “Settings” button in the upper right hand corner.
Step 2: Disconnect Current App
Next to the accounting app you’re currently using, you’ll see a red button labeled, “Disconnect”. Click on it – a pop-up will appear asking if you’re sure, and if you’re completely sure, confirm the disconnection.
If you were just looking to disconnect your accounting software, you’re all done. For those who want to switch to a new integration, here’s how that works:
How to Switch to a New Accounting Integration
Step 1: Navigate to the Accounting Page
Now that you don’t have an active integration, the Accounting button won’t drop down to “Transactions” and “Bills”. When you click on it, you’ll now arrive on a landing page with a "Connect integration" button.
Step 2: Connect Your Chosen Account
Click "Connect integration". A secure connection window will open where you can select your software, sign in to that account, and authorize Slash to access your accounting data. Once authorized, Slash will pull in your chart of accounts, contacts, and tracking categories from your app.
If your software of choice isn’t presented as an option, you can instead click the option for “Manually import via CSV” and import/map manually.
Step 3: Set Up Account Mappings
You'll be prompted to map your Slash accounts to the corresponding accounts on your app. For each Slash account (cash accounts, credit accounts, etc.), select the matching account from the dropdown. You'll also choose a "Sync from" date that determines how far back Slash will pull transactions for review. Click save when you're done.
