Syncing Accounting Data with Dynamics 365 Business Central
Last updated August 31, 2026
Overview
Slash integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central so finance teams can review, code, and sync Slash activity into Business Central from the Accounting workflow.
After the connection is set up, Slash can use your Business Central accounting records to help categorize transactions and prepare reviewed activity for sync.
Before you begin
- An active Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central account
- Admin or Owner permissions in Slash
- Permission to authorize integrations in Business Central
- Your chart of accounts and any dimensions your finance team uses, such as departments, locations, projects, or other reporting dimensions, configured in Business Central
How to connect Business Central to Slash
Step 1: Open Accounting
From your Slash dashboard, open Accounting. If you are setting up accounting for the first time, choose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central when prompted to select your accounting platform.
Step 2: Authorize the connection
Start the connection flow and sign in to your Business Central account when prompted. Authorize Slash to access the accounting data needed for categorization, mapping, and sync.
Step 3: Review mappings and sync settings
Confirm that Slash accounts and accounting fields map to the correct Business Central records before syncing transactions. If you manage multiple entities, make sure each entity is connected to the right Business Central company or accounting structure.
How to sync transactions
Open Accounting from the sidebar, review transactions in the In Review tab, assign the required accounting fields, then move reviewed transactions to Ready to Sync.
From Ready to Sync, use the sync action to send reviewed transactions to Business Central. Successfully synced transactions move to the Synced tab. If a sync fails, open the error details, correct missing or inactive accounting values, and retry.
What data can sync
Available fields depend on your Slash account, your Business Central setup, and the dimensions your business uses. Common synced details can include transaction amount, date, merchant or vendor, account codes, dimensions, cardholder details, memo information, and receipts or supporting documents.
Best practices
- Review your Business Central chart of accounts and dimensions before connecting the integration.
- Confirm mappings before syncing historical or high-volume transaction data.
- Review categorized transactions before syncing them to Business Central.
- Refresh or re-sync accounting data in Slash after making major changes in Business Central.
