How to Open a US Dollar Business Account From the UAE in 2026 (No US Entity Required)

Holding dollars is easy for a company registered in the UAE. The dirham is pegged to the dollar, and UAE banks such as Wio open USD accounts next to AED ones. The harder part is getting paid by ACH. A US client or platform needs a US account and routing number for that, and a dollar account at a UAE bank is still a UAE account.

A mainland or free zone company can get those US details without forming a US entity. Slash, a financial platform for businesses, serves companies incorporated outside the US through the Slash Global Account³, and its Middle East and Africa page lists the United Arab Emirates. Hubpay issues US receiving details to UAE businesses. Payoneer lists US dollar receiving details among its local receiving accounts, so check during sign-up that a UAE-registered business is offered them. Wise and Airwallex do not offer US account details to a UAE-registered company today.

Key Takeaways

  • Slash lists the UAE among the more than 130 countries where a registered business can open the Slash Global Account, which comes with a US account and routing number and needs no US entity, SSN or EIN.
  • A USD account at a UAE bank receives dollars by international wire through SWIFT. Wio's AED 99 Essential plan lists AED 52.50 per Swift international transfer.
  • Hubpay, licensed in Abu Dhabi Global Market, assigns US account and routing details on its Scale plan at AED 299 a month plus 5% VAT.
  • Payoneer charges 1% on payments received in a currency other than your local one, which is $200 a month on $20,000 of US payments.
  • Wise names the UAE among the addresses that can't get USD account details, and Airwallex's list of eligible registration countries leaves the UAE out.

What Should a UAE Company Look for in a US Dollar Account?

The peg answers the currency question. The Central Bank of the UAE buys dollars at 3.672 dirhams and sells them at 3.673 to hold the rate, so a balance kept in dollars barely moves against one kept in dirhams. What separates the options is how dollars reach the account, how they leave it, and what the balance legally is.

  • A US account and routing number. A US platform or client paying by ACH needs them. A US payer reaches a UAE IBAN by international wire through SWIFT.
  • Eligibility by where you are registered. Each provider below checks the company's country of registration, and Wise also checks where the company trades.
  • How money goes out. Paying a US software vendor by ACH, paying a supplier abroad by wire and paying staff in dirhams each run on a different rail.
  • A card that spends the dollars. A card on the same balance saves moving money back to a UAE bank before you spend it.
  • What the balance is. A bank deposit, an e-money balance and a stablecoin balance each carry different protections.

1. Slash: US Routing Details for a UAE Company Without a US Entity

Slash gives a business incorporated outside the US a US account and routing number, and a UAE company applies with its own incorporation documents. Ethan Chriss, Head of Global Accounts at Slash, named Brazil, Dubai and Europe among the account's fastest-growing markets.

The balance is held in USDC⁴. It is not a bank deposit, it is not FDIC insured, and Slash does not custody it. To the customer it works as a dollar account, with ACH, domestic wires and stablecoin transfers.

"If I'm a Brazilian business, I can spin up some sort of business in the U.S., whether that's an LLC or a corporation. However, that adds another layer of complexity to the business operation," Chriss said. A Dubai company faces the same choice between forming a US entity and using a US account built for non-US businesses.

What a UAE Business Gets From the Account

  • US account and routing numbers. Clients and platforms such as Stripe, Shopify and Amazon pay in by ACH or domestic wire, subject to eligibility and compliance.
  • Stablecoin rails. Send and receive USDC and USDT across supported networks, near-instant once the transfer confirms on-chain.
  • Invoices paid into the same balance.Slash invoicing adds a payment link a US client can pay by bank transfer or stablecoin.
  • A Visa card on the dollar balance. The Slash Global Card is issued through Rain, with virtual cards, per-card limits and merchant controls. It takes a second application inside Slash once the account is approved.
  • Owner sign-off on outgoing payments. Only the company's beneficial owners can authorize a transfer, with each transfer confirmed by a one-time code sent to their email.

Outgoing payments leave by ACH, domestic wire or stablecoin. Slash's help center says outbound international wires are not available from the account. It suits a company whose dollar costs are US vendors, ad platforms and software, and the card covers spend abroad.

What It Costs

Fees vary by transfer method and subscription tier, and the dashboard shows each one before you confirm a transfer. Converting between stablecoins and dollars carries Slash's 1.5% platform conversion fee.

Ask the sales team for the fees on the payment methods you plan to use, then set that quote against the per-payment and monthly costs below.

2. A USD Account at a UAE Bank: A UAE IBAN That Receives Dollars by SWIFT

This is the account a UAE company can open at a local bank. Wio Bank, regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE, opens free USD accounts next to GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD and CHF with no minimum balance, and guarantees an AED to USD rate of 3.673.

Wio includes the account in its business plans, at AED 99 a month for Essential with AED 52.50 per Swift international transfer, or AED 249 for Grow with AED 26.25 per transfer.

The money stays in a UAE-regulated bank and converts at a rate close to the peg. The account has a UAE IBAN, though, so a payer that sends only by ACH to a US routing number can't reach it.

3. Hubpay: US Account and Routing Details on the AED 299 Scale Plan

Hubpay is built for UAE-registered businesses, and the FSRA in Abu Dhabi Global Market licenses it as a Category 3C Electronic Money Institution. On its Scale and Treasury plans it assigns a named USD IBAN with US account and routing details, usually within one business day of onboarding. Hubpay says no US entity or physical presence is required.

Scale costs AED 299 a month plus 5% VAT, with a 30-day free trial and no minimum balance. The plan holds 30+ currencies, sends international payroll to 85+ countries and adds payment links for card collections. Treasury is custom-priced and adds forward contracts for companies with $300,000 or more a month in FX.

The balance is electronic money rather than a bank deposit, and the plans page lists no card for spending it.

4. Payoneer: 1% on USD Received, Into Accounts That Can't Be Debited

Payoneer lists US dollar receiving details among its local receiving accounts, so check during sign-up that a UAE-registered business is offered them. Those accounts cover 13 currencies, AED included. A US marketplace or client pays the USD details by ACH, and the AED details take UAE transfers.

The pricing is per transaction. Payoneer charges 1%, with a $1 minimum, on payments received in a currency that isn't your local one. A payment made by card costs up to 3.99% plus $0.49. Withdrawing to a bank costs 1.2% to 4%. An annual fee of $29.95 applies when the account receives less than $6,000 in 12 months, and Payoneer notes that fees vary by region.

Payoneer says its receiving accounts are not actual bank accounts and cannot be charged, so any debit attempt is declined. Stripe debits the bank account on file when a balance goes negative, so a company in that position needs an account Stripe can pull from.

Wise and Airwallex for a UAE Company

Both come up often for companies outside the US, and neither offers US account details to a UAE-registered business today. Wise's help center lists the United Arab Emirates among the addresses that can't get USD account details, and the UAE is absent from its list of countries where you can hold money with Wise. A team run from Dubai may not get around this by registering the company abroad. Where the registered and trading addresses are in different countries, Wise's UK requirements page says the company gets only the services available in both.

Airwallex processes applications only from businesses registered in the countries on its eligibility list, and the UAE is not on it. In September 2025 Airwallex announced in-principle approval for stored value facility and retail payment services licenses from the Central Bank of the UAE. Check its eligibility list again before you apply.

How to Choose a US Dollar Account for a UAE Company

  • Paid by SWIFT wire and spending in dirhams. A USD account at your UAE bank is enough, and the peg keeps the conversion close to 3.672 to 3.673.
  • Paid by ACH from US platforms or clients. You need US account and routing numbers, which narrows the field to Slash and Hubpay, plus Payoneer if it offers them to your company at sign-up.
  • Price your receiving volume once. Collecting $20,000 a month by ACH costs a UAE company $200 a month at Payoneer, or $2,400 a year, at 1%. Hubpay's Scale plan is AED 313.95 a month with VAT, about $85.49 at the 3.6725 midpoint, before any per-payment fees. Ask Slash for a quote on the same mix.
  • Keep a UAE bank for dirham payroll. The UAE government's guide to running a mainland business lists a bank account and a Wages Protection System account among the key steps.
  • Check the card before you apply. Rain, which issues the Slash Global Card, does not list the UAE on its card prohibitions list. A UAE company approved for the card can spend its dollar balance on a Visa without first moving the money to a UAE bank.

How to Open the Slash Global Account From the UAE

Slash's application guide lists what to prepare, and a UAE company's papers map to it as follows.

  • Business details. Legal name, date of incorporation, registered address, website, industry and a plain description of what the company sells.
  • Formation documents. Slash asks for "articles of incorporation or other official documents issued when your company was legally established." For a mainland company that is usually the trade license from the emirate's economic department and, for an LLC, the Memorandum of Association. For a free zone company, the license and incorporation documents from the free zone authority.
  • Proof of business address. A utility bill, a lease such as a Dubai tenancy contract attested by RERA, or a government business registration document.
  • Owners and controllers. Name, date of birth, address and ownership share for everyone holding 25% or more, plus at least one control person, each with a passport or government ID.
  • Statements and activity. Two recent bank or card statements, using personal ones if the company has never had a business account. Add invoices, contracts or revenue statements that show the business trading.

Start from "Get started" on slash.com. Choosing the UAE as the country of incorporation routes the application to the dollar account. Upload the documents, accept the account terms and submit. Slash may ask some businesses for extra material such as source-of-funds information or invoices. Describe the business in the same terms your invoices and website use. Apply for the Global Card from the Cards page once the account is open.

Conclusion

A USD account at a UAE bank receives dollars by SWIFT wire into a UAE IBAN. Once US platforms and clients want to pay by ACH, the company needs US account and routing numbers. Payoneer's USD receiving accounts take ACH but can't be debited.

Slash gives a UAE company those numbers with no US entity, plus stablecoin transfers and a Visa card on the same dollar balance.

FAQs

1. Can a free zone company open the Slash Global Account?

Yes. Slash's test is legal incorporation outside the US, and a free zone company is incorporated in the UAE just as a mainland company is. Both apply the same way.

2. Does a UAE company need a US LLC to get a US routing number?

No. Slash gives a business incorporated in the UAE a US account and routing number with no US entity, SSN or EIN.

3. Is the balance in the Slash Global Account FDIC insured?

No. The balance is held in USDC, which is not a bank deposit and is not FDIC insured, and Slash does not custody it. What the account shares with a bank account is the US account and routing number that clients and platforms pay into.

4. Can a UAE company get the Slash Global Card?

Rain, which issues the card, does not include the UAE on its list of countries where cards can't be issued. The card needs its own application inside Slash after the account is approved, and review can take a few business days.

5. Why open a dollar account if the dirham is already pegged to the dollar?

The Central Bank of the UAE buys dollars at 3.672 and sells them at 3.673, so currency risk is small. A US dollar account is useful for the payment rails, because ACH payouts from US platforms and clients need a US routing number that a UAE bank account doesn't have.
