Wells Fargo Routing Number - Look Up Yours by State
Find the Wells Fargo routing number for your state. Wells Fargo uses different ABA routing numbers for ACH, wire transfers, and checks depending on account location.
What is the Wells Fargo routing number?
Wells Fargo assigns routing numbers by state, reflecting its origins as a California-based bank that expanded nationwide through organic growth and acquisitions - most notably Wachovia in 2008, which brought an entire East Coast branch network into the fold. Customers who held Wachovia accounts before the merger may still carry Wachovia-era routing numbers, though many have since been consolidated under Wells Fargo numbers.
Your routing number is determined by where you opened your Wells Fargo account. A customer who opened an account in California uses 121000248, while a customer in Minnesota uses 091000019, even if both now live in the same city.

Wells Fargo wire transfer routing number
Wells Fargo uses 121000248 as the domestic wire transfer routing number for all states. This is also their California ACH routing number, but for wire transfers it applies nationwide. For incoming international wires, the SWIFT code is WFBIUS6S.
Domestic wires sent before the cutoff (typically 5:00 PM PT) are usually received the same business day. Wells Fargo charges $30 for domestic outgoing wires and $45 for international outgoing wires on standard business accounts.
Where to find your Wells Fargo routing number
In the Wells Fargo mobile app, tap the account and select "Account details" to see your routing number. Online at wellsfargo.com, navigate to Account Summary, click the account, and look under the account details section. On physical checks, the routing number is the nine-digit code in the bottom-left corner.
Wells Fargo also publishes a routing number lookup page on their website organized by state. If you have accounts in multiple states, each account will have its own routing number.
ACH and direct deposit with Wells Fargo
For direct deposit and ACH payments, use the routing number assigned to your specific account (state-based). Wells Fargo processes ACH credits and debits throughout the business day, with most direct deposits posting by early morning on the scheduled date.
When setting up ACH payments to vendors or employees, confirm whether the recipient needs an ACH routing number or a wire routing number - using the wrong one is one of the most common causes of payment delays for businesses managing multiple outgoing transfers.
