Organization Charts: Map Your Teams and Payment Permissions
The Organization Chart is a new Slash dashboard view that makes it easier to map and view every user on your account, the teams they belong to, and the payment permissions attached to each of them.
Every employee, admin, and owner on Slash gets a user node. Each node connects to the teams that person belongs to, and the whiteboard page lays those teams out under the people who manage them. An employee can trace their team up to the admin or owner who approves its spending and know where to send a request.
How Org Charts work
To view your Organization Chart, navigate to entity settings. If you’re an approved administrator or owner, you’ll be able to:
- Map your teams and departments. Add each team to the whiteboard and connect it to the people who lead it and the people who work on it.
- Organize payment responsibilities and permissions. Attach permissions to the roles and teams they belong to, so a department head's authority over spend sits next to their name on the chart.
- Check the structure from your dashboard. The finished chart lives in your Slash dashboard, where admins and employees can see who handles which payments.
Clearer approval policies and request routing
An admin building a multi-step approval path for marketing spend can now see the marketing team, including its lead and the owner above them on one page, then write the policy around each team member. Approval chains follow the structure on the chart instead of a list kept in someone's head.
For employees, the chart answers a routine question: who signs off on this request? A new hire on the sales team can open the chart, find their team, and see which manager or admin reviews their requests. Fewer requests land with the wrong approver, and fewer stall while someone forwards them along.
Permissions are also easier to review. When someone changes roles or leaves the company, admins can see every team and payment responsibility connected to the person's node before making changes.
