August Monthly Recap: Mobile Updates, Founder’s Events, and a Gorgeous New Card

This month, most of our launches appeared in your pocket rather than on your desktop. Between a sleek new Slash card and a couple new mobile updates, we’re changing the way you spend money while you’re on the go.¹ Let’s take a look at what we’ve been up to in August:

Metal Cards

The Slash Visa® Platinum Card has received an upgrade. Our premium charge card is now available in metal, with a sleek, minimalist design that’ll make the Paul Allens of your corporate circle jealous.

Despite its update look, it’s still the exact same card that’s been helping your team manage their cash flow. You can still set custom spending limits and merchant restrictions, track each expense in real time, let purchases get categorized automatically, and receive alerts when fraudulent activity is suspected. The only difference is the feel in your hands.

Eligible Slash customers can order a metal card directly from their dashboard by:

Signing in to Slash and opening Cards.
Creating or ordering a physical card, with Metal selected as the card design.
Confirming the cardholder and shipping details.
Reviewing any card and shipping fees, then placing the order.

The Slash Mobile App Comes to Android

Another highly anticipated update has been the introduction of the Slash mobile app to Android systems. In August, it finally arrived. If you’re an Android user and you’ve never taken a look at the Slash app, you don’t know what you’ve been missing.

Slash for Android gives you many of the features found on the desktop platform with a clean interface and secure access through biometric authentication. Eligible users can execute quite a few key tasks on their phone, including:

Sending wires and ACH payments both domestically and internationally
Making real-time payments through the RTP Network and FedNow
Add funds from a connected bank account or by wire
Checking outstanding tasks in the Action Center
Creating, issuing, and freezing virtual cards
Switching between different business entities

And much, much more. If you so choose, you can also receive notifications for most of these events, making it easier to manage your company’s finances while on the go. Hop onto Google Play and download the Slash mobile app today.

Mobile Crypto Payments

Whether you’re an Android or IPhone user, you also got a brand new mobile feature this month: crypto payments.⁴ Eligible Slash users can send stablecoins (USDC and USDT) to external wallets right from their phones, with all the same network and security-related tools available that you’d see on a desktop transaction. Since stablecoin payments can settle in minutes for low fees, you can save time and money every time you transfer funds to a supplier or business partner.

After you’ve sent crypto to someone for the first time, it’s simple to do it again. All you have to do is choose an existing recipient and their saved crypto destination – their name, blockchain network, wallet address, and other features are saved right in the app. Slash supports USDC and USDT payments across 15 different blockchain networks, including Ethereum and Solana.

You can also receive crypto in the same way. From “Add Funds” in the app, you can choose the account you want to fund, followed by the currency and preferred blockchain network. Get started today!

Activity Logs

The larger and more spread out your team gets, the harder it is to keep an eye on the actions they take and the money they move. That’s why we created Activity Logs: simple, comprehensive records of important events that happen within your Slash account.

With Activity Logs, you can learn who did what, when it happened, and what was affected. Over 70 actions can be tracked, including payments, card issuance/cancellations, bills, webhooks, expenses, and spending-rule adjustments. Each action comes with a timestamp, the person responsible, a short description of the event, and what was changed.

If you’re just doing your due diligence, everything’s sorted by recent so you can get the most up-to-date picture possible. If you’re looking for something specific, you can use custom filtering tools to sort by team member, event type, and affected item. Whether you’re trying to make sense of a week of activity within your enterprise organization or you just want to learn a few more details about a recent employee purchase, Activity Logs have you covered.

Life at Slash: Moments From August

As usual, we got just about as much done off-screen as we did on-screen. This month, we left the office and:

Hosted a beautiful rooftop founder’s event at the Hilton in Budapest, Hungary
Sponsored the Evolve Apex Mastermind, a business coaching retreat, in Saint-Tropez, France
Invited the up-and-comers of the world of e-commerce to our ECom Scalers Event in New York City

While many of our events take place within the San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley area, we decided to take some longer flights in August. What can we say? We like to travel.
