Slash raises $100M Series C at a $1.4B valuation
Brex Pricing: Subscription + Fee Breakdown
Brex's free plan holds features back, and its paid tiers charge per user. Slash doesn't paywall features, and Pro is just $25 a month for the whole team.

What are Brex's subscription costs?
Brex offers four plans:
- Essentials, free: Corporate cards, bill pay, reimbursements, travel booking, accounting integrations, API access. Capped at two entities.
- Premium, $12/user/month: Multi-entity support, multiple expense policies, live budgets, ERP & HRIS integrations, custom roles and permissions, advanced SSO and audit logs.
- Enterprise, custom pricing: Unlimited entities, VAT tracking. local card issuance, and a designated senior consultant.
- Smart Card, custom pricing: Procurement only. Brex cards, merchant card controls, and custom approvals.
Brex's free plan works until your company starts scaling. Add a second entity or a second spending policy and you're on Premium, paying per user, right when you have the most users. Advanced SSO and security audit logs are behind that paywall, too. With Slash, you don't need to pay more to get the platform's full capabilities.

Additional fees and overages
Per-seat pricing
$12 per user per month on Premium. Domestic and international users are counted and billed separately.
Seat overages
Charged for any provisioned users above your committed amount, priced by your specific contract. Overages fee has no published rate.
Brex Treasury management fees
Brex's advertised yield isn't one rate. It's the DGVXX fund return plus up to 0.35% that you only get if your balance is high enough. That portion is calculated on your combined balance across checking, treasury, and vault, so the headline rate depends partly on cash that isn't invested. Brex doesn't publish the thresholds, and calls the number illustrative, so it isn't necessarily what you'd earn.
Is Brex Worth the Cost?
The fees themselves are unremarkable. Wires, ACH, and checks are free; the up to 3% FX markup on international card spend matches what most issuers charge. The problem is what Brex doesn't publish: the rate on non-USD wires, what overage seats cost, and the balance thresholds behind the advertised yield. The total is harder to predict than the fee schedule suggests. The real cost is qualifying in the first place. Brex lists three ways to meet its eligibility criteria: taking equity investment of any amount from an accelerator, angel, or VC; more than $500,000 a year in revenue; or being a tech startup with a referral on track for either. A profitable small business under that revenue line with no plans to raise doesn't fit those criteria, and companies not organized and registered in the US can't apply at all. Slash has no cash minimum and doesn't ask how you raised your money, and accounts are available in 130+ countries without needing a US entity.³ See how Slash stacks up to Brex on pricing and features below:
