What is USDSL?
Last updated March 21, 2026
USDSL is Slash's stablecoin, a digital dollar that lives on the Base blockchain. It's pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, meaning 1 USDSL always equals $1 USD.
USDSL lets you hold and transfer dollar-denominated funds directly on the blockchain. It combines the stability of the US dollar with the speed and transparency of crypto transactions.
How USDSL Works
When you hold USDSL in your Slash account, your balance exists as tokens on the Base blockchain. Each token represents one US dollar. You can:
- View your USDSL balance alongside your other Slash account balances
- Send USDSL to other crypto wallets
- Receive USDSL from external sources
- Convert between USDSL and traditional USD in your Slash account
All USDSL transactions are recorded on the Base blockchain, providing a transparent and verifiable record of your activity.
Benefits of USDSL
Fast transfers: Crypto transactions settle in minutes rather than the 1-3 business days typical of traditional bank transfers.
24/7 availability: Unlike traditional banking rails, blockchain transactions can be processed any time, including weekends and holidays.
Transparency: Your USDSL holdings are verifiable on-chain. You can independently confirm your balance using the public blockchain explorer.
Global access: USDSL can be sent to any compatible crypto wallet worldwide without the complexity of international wire transfers.
How to Access USDSL
Step 1: Enable Global USD
USDSL is part of Slash's Global USD feature. Navigate to the Global USD section of your Slash account to get started.
Step 2: Complete Verification
If you haven't already, you'll need to complete the Global USD application and verification process.
Step 3: Fund Your Account
Once approved, you can fund your Global USD account using various methods including ACH, wire transfer, or incoming crypto deposits.
Step 4: View Your USDSL Balance
Your USDSL balance will appear in your Slash dashboard. You can also verify your holdings directly on the Base blockchain using your wallet address.
Verifying Your USDSL On-Chain
USDSL is a fully transparent, on-chain token. To verify your holdings independently:
- Note your Slash wallet address from your account settings
- Visit BaseScan (basescan.org)
- Search for the USDSL contract address: 0xcc7b940e22e1eef83c0170608aed6d5fd386cdad
- Look up your wallet address to see your token balance
This public verifiability is a key benefit of holding digital assets on a blockchain.
Transaction Times
USDSL transactions typically confirm within minutes, depending on network conditions. Once a transaction is confirmed on the Base blockchain, it's final and irreversible.
When converting between USDSL and traditional USD within your Slash account, funds are typically available within one business day.
Security Considerations
USDSL is a blockchain-based asset. While this provides benefits like transparency and fast transfers, it also means:
Transactions are irreversible: Double-check recipient addresses before sending. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed once confirmed.
Protect your account: Your Slash account credentials control access to your USDSL. Use strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication.
