Importing Data from QuickBooks into Slash
Last updated March 21, 2026
Overview
Slash can import data from your QuickBooks Online account to help you manage payments, reconcile transactions, and gain a unified view of your business finances. By connecting QuickBooks, you can pull in vendor and customer information to streamline your workflows in Slash.
Before You Begin
To import data from QuickBooks into Slash, you'll need:
- An active QuickBooks Online account
- Admin or Owner permissions in your Slash account
- Your QuickBooks data up to date (Slash imports what's currently in QuickBooks)
How to Import Data from QuickBooks into Slash
Step 1: Connect QuickBooks to Slash
If you haven't already connected QuickBooks:
- Log in to your Slash dashboard at app.slash.com
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Accounting
- Click Connect QuickBooks
- Sign in to your QuickBooks account when prompted
- Authorize Slash to access your QuickBooks data
Once connected, Slash will begin syncing your QuickBooks data.
Step 2: Import Contacts and Vendors
After connecting, Slash can import your QuickBooks contacts to use as payment recipients:
- Go to Payments > Recipients in your Slash dashboard
- Click Import from QuickBooks
- Select the vendors or customers you want to import
- Review the imported contact details (name, email, payment information)
- Click Confirm Import
Imported contacts will appear in your Recipients list and can be used when sending payments.
Step 3: Import Invoice Data
If you use QuickBooks for invoicing, you can import outstanding invoices to pay directly from Slash:
- Go to Payments > Bills
- Click Sync from QuickBooks
- Review the list of unpaid bills from QuickBooks
- Select the bills you want to pay through Slash
- Choose your payment method (ACH, wire, or card) and confirm
Payment status will sync back to QuickBooks once the transaction completes.
What Gets Imported
Slash imports the following data from QuickBooks:
- Vendor and customer contact information
- Unpaid bills and invoices
- Payment terms and due dates
- Account mappings for reconciliation
Slash does not import historical transactions or modify your QuickBooks ledger directly.
Keeping Data in Sync
Once connected, Slash syncs with QuickBooks automatically. New vendors added in QuickBooks will appear in Slash within 24 hours, or you can manually trigger a sync from Settings > Integrations > Accounting by clicking Sync Now.
Need More Help?
If imported data appears outdated or contacts are missing, try a manual sync. Make sure the records exist in QuickBooks and aren't archived. For further assistance, contact Slash Support through the in-app chat or email support@slash.com.
