Exporting Data from Slash into QuickBooks
Last updated March 21, 2026
Overview
Slash integrates with QuickBooks Online to help you keep your accounting records up to date. Once connected, you can export transaction data from your Slash accounts directly into QuickBooks, reducing manual data entry and ensuring your books reflect your actual business activity.
Before You Begin
To export data from Slash to QuickBooks, you'll need:
- An active QuickBooks Online account
- Admin or Owner permissions in your Slash account
- The accounts you want to map already created in QuickBooks (bank accounts for cash, credit card accounts for credit lines)
How to Export Data from Slash into QuickBooks
Step 1: Connect QuickBooks to Slash
- Log in to your Slash dashboard at app.slash.com
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Accounting
- Click Connect QuickBooks
- Sign in to your QuickBooks account when prompted
- Authorize Slash to access your QuickBooks data
Once authorized, Slash will pull in your chart of accounts from QuickBooks.
Step 2: Map Your Slash Accounts
After connecting, you'll be prompted to map your Slash accounts to corresponding QuickBooks accounts:
- For each Slash bank account, select the matching QuickBooks bank account from the dropdown
- For each Slash credit account (such as a Charge Card), select the matching QuickBooks credit card account
- Click Save Mappings
If you don't see the account you're looking for, make sure it's been created in QuickBooks with the correct account type (bank or credit card).
Step 3: Export Transactions
Once your accounts are mapped:
- Go to Transactions in your Slash dashboard
- Use the filters to select the date range and accounts you want to export
- Click Export and select QuickBooks
- Review the transactions that will be exported
- Click Confirm Export
Transactions will appear in QuickBooks within a few minutes.
What Gets Exported
Slash exports the following transaction data to QuickBooks:
- Transaction date and amount
- Merchant or counterparty name
- Transaction type (debit, credit, transfer)
- Memo or description (if available)
- Category (if you've categorized the transaction in Slash)
Managing Ongoing Exports
You can configure automatic exports to sync new transactions on a daily or weekly basis. Go to Settings > Integrations > Accounting and toggle Auto-sync to enable this feature.
