How to Connect Your Slash and QuickBooks Accounts
Last updated March 21, 2026
Overview
Connecting your QuickBooks account to Slash allows you to sync your financial data for streamlined bookkeeping and reconciliation. Once connected, Slash can automatically map your bank accounts and credit card accounts to the corresponding accounts in QuickBooks, making it easier to track transactions and maintain accurate records.
Before You Begin
You'll need an active QuickBooks Online account to use this integration. Slash integrates with QuickBooks Online only and does not currently support QuickBooks Desktop. If you're currently using the desktop version, you'll need to migrate to QuickBooks Online or set up a new QuickBooks Online account before connecting to Slash.
How to Connect QuickBooks to Slash
Step 1: Access Accounting Settings
From your Slash dashboard, navigate to Settings and select Accounting. This is where you'll manage all accounting platform integrations.
Step 2: Initiate the QuickBooks Connection
Click Connect next to QuickBooks Online. You'll be redirected to Intuit's secure login page.
Step 3: Authorize the Connection
Sign in to your QuickBooks account and review the permissions Slash is requesting. Click Connect to authorize the integration. After authorizing, you'll be redirected back to Slash.
Step 4: Map Your Accounts
Once connected, Slash will display your QuickBooks accounts for mapping:
- Cash accounts: Select which QuickBooks bank account should receive your Slash checking transactions
- Credit accounts: Select which QuickBooks credit card account should receive your Slash card transactions
Choose the appropriate accounts from the dropdown menus and click Save to complete the setup.
Additional Features and Considerations
Account Types in QuickBooks
Slash pulls account information directly from QuickBooks. For accounts to appear in the correct mapping section, they must be configured with the right account type in QuickBooks:
- Bank accounts in QuickBooks appear in the "Cash accounts" section
- Credit card accounts in QuickBooks appear in the "Credit accounts" section
If you don't see an expected account during mapping, verify its account type in QuickBooks and update it if needed.
Disconnecting QuickBooks
To disconnect, return to Settings > Accounting and click Disconnect next to your QuickBooks connection. This stops future syncing but doesn't delete previously synced data.
Need More Help?
If you're having trouble connecting or your accounts aren't appearing correctly, first verify that your QuickBooks account is active and that you have admin permissions. For issues with account mapping, check that your accounts are categorized correctly in QuickBooks. If you continue to experience issues, contact Slash support through the in-app chat or at support@slash.com.
