Where are my funds kept and how are my deposits FDIC-insured?

Our partner bank Column NA, Member FDIC partners with IntraFi Cash Service (ICS) of IntraFi Network LLC — a sweep deposit network — and other deposit partners to spread your deposits across their network of 800 banks (list here). Deposits are divided into amounts under the standard FDIC insurance maximum of $250,000 and placed in deposit accounts at banks that participate in the network to expand your FDIC coverage up to hundreds of millions. Even though your deposits may be spread across a network of up to 800 banks, the Slash dashboard experience remains the same and you can enjoy daily liquidity. It's easy to manage and move money while still getting up to 800x the standard coverage amount of $250,000. Through economic ups and downs and bank failures, no depositor has ever lost a penny of their funds placed using ICS.

What is a sweep network?

A sweep network distributes your funds across multiple FDIC-insured banks. This strategy maximizes your insurance coverage and diversifies your financial risk.

As a financial technology company, Slash is subject to a number of regulations that are standard across the financial services industry, including know your customer (KYC) and know your business (KYB) obligations, anti-money laundering (AML) rules, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions. We work closely with our partners to comply with applicable laws and regulations so that we can provide the best customer experience possible.

Is my Slash account held in my name?

Every Slash account is structured as an individual demand deposit account (DDA), giving you full ownership, transfer rights, and FDIC insurance eligibility by law — with no middleware in between.
